Supplied: Bellows for the chilled water, steam & domestic hot water

DST were recommended by the consultants Hoare Lea to provide a Caesar II Stress Analysis on the steam & chilled water pipework. The results showed excessive anchor loads back on the building.

DST recommended the use of Gimbal Bellows and the anchor loads were reduced from 40 tonnes. DST completed the calculations for all the pipework and steelwork, using our two stress calculation packages; Caesar II Stress Analysis (pipework and super stress (steelwork)).

DST group’s Fire Sleeve Pipe Wraps were written into the specification for The Shard, Skanska identified this product as a way of saving installation time on site, due to its innovative snap lock system.

The Fire Sleeve Pipe Wraps are manufactured by DST in our 199,000 sq. ft. warehouse and a large quantity is kept in stock, the sleeve also carries LPCB certification on plastic, steel and copper pipes.

Our client NG Bailey Ltd. approached DST Group to calculate and design the thermal expansion of pipework. Regular site visits by our technical sales director, who specialises in expansion design, guaranteed continuity of design, service and materials.

The design include Expansion Bellows, Slides guides and Anchor Points for LTHW and domestic Hot Water. DST supplied Axial Bellows for both steel and copper pipework. DST also supplied Tied Pump Flexibles for pump connections.

The views from the top of the recently completed London Landmark gives wonderful panoramic views of the capital’s skyline.
